not sure how to interpret axis info

first screen shot. I put the joy stick in approx 8 o'clock position. it looks like all three top boxes moved. what axis does that represent?

I have two questions regarding understanding what is happening in the axis area
1. (please see first screen shot)I don't know how to interpret diagonal movement. I have an SG3 which has two joy sticks. For example, when I move one stick diagonally (not straight left/right (9 o'clock to 3 o'clock) or straight up/down (12 o'clock to 6 o'clock) but instead I move it to 8 o'clock or to 2 o'clock) I don't know how to interpret the resulting display. because more than one box moves. In the uploaded screen shot I had the joystick at the 8 o'clock position. You'll see that all top three boxes shifted - the first and third to the left and the middle one to the right.... so what axis number is that?
2. (please see second screen shot) What does it mean when the red boxes are above the numbered empty white boxes? Are they corresponding and the red boxes should be appearing inside the numbered white boxes? (that seems to be the case)

Hello

There is a bug that appeared only on mavericks that makes the red boxes appear in the wrong place.
Just think it should be inside the white boxes, so they will make sense.

I will release an update to fix that soon.

Wouldn't it be possible to display the axes just like the hats are shown? Even the seem to show them correctly.
