How to connect the controller to Mac in the first place

I cannot find it anywhere in the Help and it's my first gamepad so sorry for such, maybe trivial, question. I bought an iPega controller (PG-9076) which supports three ways to connect: usb cable, Bluetooth and 2.4G using enclosed usb dongle. When I insert the dongle or connect it with the usb cable to my Mac (Macbook Pro Late 2013 with macOS 10.14.3) and open the Joystick Mapper, it tells me that "No joysticks connected". Do I need to perform some step in between?

When I connect the controller using Bluetooth, it takes control of the mouse cursor (and so behaves like a mouse) but the Joystick Mapper still says "No joysticks connected".

hello

not sure if this controller is compatible with macOS, but found some info on the internet:
- with the cable, you should hold Start, or Home button, or something like that, so it will detect properly
- with the usb dongle, you should hold another button, I think it is select.
- about the bluetooth, try to switch modes by holding some buttons before connecting it.

I am having this same issue. it shows up on Joystick Lite and works fine but Joystick Lite is not a mapper.

I just purchased the app, and PG-9076 controller is not being recognized when connected in USB neither in Bluetooth.
